Industrial production in France experienced a 1.1% decrease in July 2025 compared to the previous month, countering a revised 3.8% increase in June—the most significant growth recorded since July 2020. This decline was less severe than the anticipated 1.8% contraction. The manufacturing sector was the primary contributor to the decrease, with output dropping by 1.7%, highlighted by a significant slump in transport equipment production, which fell by 10.7%. Additionally, there were reductions in output in the agricultural food industries, down by 1.3%, and in the sector encompassing electrical, electronic, computer equipment, and machinery, which decreased by 2.2%.
