2026.10.1607:16:48UTC+00Czechia Producer Prices Highest Since 2022

Producer prices in the Czech Republic rose to 3.7% year-on-year in September 2026, up from 2% in August and above market expectations of 3.4%. This was the highest annual producer inflation rate since April 2023.

The acceleration was mainly driven by stronger price growth in manufacturing (5.3% vs. 4% in August), with notable increases in the manufacture of basic metals (6.3% vs. 5.6%) and machinery and equipment (2% vs. 1.7%). Prices also grew more rapidly in mining and quarrying (2.6% vs. 2.3%), while inflation in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services held steady at 3.9%.

Meanwhile, deflation in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply eased, with prices falling 1.6% year-on-year compared with a 4.8% decline in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 1.2% in September, up from 0.4% in August and surpassing market forecasts of a 0.9% rise. This marked the strongest monthly gain since April.
